Whether you have been to Scandinavia or not, most of us are well aware of their affiliation – regardless of how justified it is or not – with trees, the pine tree in particular, and the resulting furniture that is typically made from it all over the world. The pine bookcase has to be the epitome of a pine furniture item. So simple, yet it brings so much to whichever room in the home it is kept.
Pine wood, being a naturally occurring material benefits from a variance in style that is unique from model to model, which lends each piece a truly distinctive personality. While Scandinavia is renowned for its pine forests, they do not hold the monopoly over growing this type of tree, so the pine bookcase can be found all over the world, regardless of hemisphere. And for good reason too, the neutral tone ensures it is always going to accentuate the rest of objects in the room without negatively clashing in any way. Other coloured furniture requires placing with other items more thoughtfully, and if your situation changes furniture-wise, you are stuck with them. So stick with pine for your bookcase and you will not look back.

Joachim Hansen was the first ever fighter from Scandinavia to win a mixed martial arts world title. He’s known for his dominance of the Japanese shooto promotion in its early days. Just like almost all of the lightweight fighters, Hansen has s sick ground game made up of Brazilian jiu jitsu, wrestling, and nogi grappling. He also possesses a ridiculous right leg kick and vicious knee strikes. Most of his knockouts can only be caught on slow motion replay!
He is currently thiry one years old and was born in Oslo, Norway. Like most mixed martial arts fighters, Hansen (sponsored by the mma apparel company Inspirit) trained in a multitude of disciplines before finally training seriously and competing in Shooto. He beat Takanori Gomi, the Japanese champion of Shooto. This was Gomi’s first loss ever and Hansen was looked at as the future of the lightweight fighters. He continues to be victorious to this very day.

Stones and wood were the main materials used for making tools in the olden days in Scandinavia and as a result the Scandinavian axe came about, which was used for cutting down trees, hunting and other daily activities. In other instances it was used for breaking ice when fishing or just to break the frozen ground to set up shelters.
As time went by the Scandinavians started to adopt agriculture and this is when the Scandinavian axe started being used for cutting down trees in order to create land for planting. Since they had huge deposits of flint they were able to produce a good quality Scandinavian axe or the early forms were rough and deep. As time went on a new Scandinavian axe which was attached to a thick wooden handle was developed, which would be used for heavy labor like removing trees and processing .Therefore, the recent Scandinavian axe has come a long way with the numerous materials used to get the right quality.
